JOB PURPOSE

  • Effective performance of the analytical tasks under the guidance of the VP and/or Head of PM
  • Ensure delivery of all tasks associated with effective monitoring of the credit and equity portfolios
  • Supports Head of PM and VP with general tasks related to the Function or other areas of the Corporation, including but not limited to the development of Strategy, Business Plans, Budgets, Formats, Reports presentations (in Arabic and English) and risk or governance requirements

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

General Duties for Credit Portfolio:

  • Conduct ongoing credit monitoring analysis, including client’s financial and operating performance, peer group analysis and covenant compliance
  • Manage ongoing client relationships and attend client meetings as and when required
  • Analyze and present client’s financial and operating metrics to facilitate extension requests of existing facilities
  • Work closely with Corporate Banking and Risk Teams to highlight potential risks in the credit portfolio and recommend appropriate action plans
  • Coordinate with Corporate Banking to structure financial models for revaluing distressed credits in the portfolio for restructuring
  • Address credit portfolio waiver and amendment requests, in coordination with Corporate Banking, Legal and Risks
  • Provide projections on expected drawdowns/repayments to Treasury/Finance to manage overall liquidity
  • Perform the annual credit reviews and the risk ratings based on an agreed schedule
  • Ensure information records for each client are up to date and archived on the available storage medium
  • Generate timely and accurate periodic and ad-hoc exposure and performance reports for management
  • Research current market and credit trends within sectors and maintain statistical data as necessary
  • Coordinate and monitor transaction funding and loan transfers/drawdowns, with Corporate Banking, Treasury and Operations
  • Highlight and coordinate with Corporate Banking and Investment Teams potential debt and equity cross selling opportunities

General Duties for Equity Portfolio:

  • Conduct continuous and dynamic monitoring of the performance of Investee Companies, considering the need for immediate proactive actions to preserve and maximize value
  • Asses Investee Companies through formal annual reviews and interim/ad-hoc/continuous reviews, as and when information becomes available
  • Establish appropriate annual action plans for each Investee company and follow on the execution thereof
  • Perform semiannual valuations of all Investee Companies
  • Recommend impairments or value adjustments to the VP and/or Head of PM based on accurate and proper analysis
  • Monitor dividends distribution/payouts against the planned/ announced plans of the Investee companies
  • Ensures that all technical aspects of work, including the development and/or assessment of financial models and valuations are done according to generally accepted best practice
  • Works closely with the Directors at the Investee Companies to review board packages to identify key financial and operational issues
  • Ensure that underlying reasons pertaining to operational/financial issues are identified
  • Consult with the VP and present to the Head of PM to develop a consensus view on important decisions/ positions to be taken at Investee Company Board or General Assembly meetings
  • Assess effectiveness of investment strategies and the risk/return relationship of the equity portfolio and recommend potential changes in investment/portfolio strategy
  • Inform the VP and Head of PM on key developments within Investee Companies and/or the sectors that they operate in, for consideration in future investment decisions
  • Proactive identification and execution of potential exits under the guidance of VP and/or Head of PM
  • Provide projections on expected dividends to Treasury/Finance to manage the overall liquidity

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Appropriate Bachelor’s Degree (minimum), Post graduate degree is (preferred)
  • Relevant professional qualification (CFA, CMA, etc.) is (preferred)
  • Minimum 6 Years of relevant experience in financial institutions or in oil & gas company
